Best known as the boyhood home town of Walt Disney, Marceline has the unique distinction of being the inspiration for much of his later accomplishments in cartoons and film animation. In fact, Main Street USA in Disneyland is modeled after Kansas Avenue, the main street in Marceline. For Disney, Marceline was a treasured paradise where he experienced childhood’s defining moments, and which served as the inspiration for his work.
The Walt Disney Hometown Museum is the gateway to historic Marceline. The Museum’s interpretive exhibits provide insight to the vivid imagination that launched world famous icons, including: Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Goofy and more. Gifted artifacts fill the museum’s exhibits and tell the story of Walt Disney and the Disney family.
